Chandrayaan 3: Two of 3 mission objectives complete

Chandrayaan 3 Soft landing

Chandrayaan 3 Pragyan rover rolled out, traverses 8 meter’s.

ISRO said that Pragyan has successfully traversed a distance of about 8 meters and that the payloads have been “turned on”

pragyan had crowled eight meters on the Moon as of Friday at the rate of 1cm per second after the chandrayaan 3 rover began leaving its tracks in lunar surface dust on Thursday. All systems were go on Friday.

The august 23 landing needing on help from redundancies (secondary mechanisms that kick in if primary ones fail).

While the rover designed speed allows it to cover 8 meters in 15 minutes, isro did not immediately elaborate on pragyan’s movement profile such as for how many minutes it moves in one attempt before halting, what the halt time is ,etc.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed gratitude to world leaders for their wishes on Chandrayaan-3’s successful landing on Moon. The prime minister in reply to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s wishes said the milestone is not just India’s pride but a beacon of human endeavor and perseverance

The EU President wrote: “Congratulations to @narendramodi for the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3. A historic milestone and proud moment for the Indian people. India has become a true pioneer in space exploration. This Indian success will benefit researchers all over the world.

The UAE President earlier said: “The successful lunar landing of India’s chandra spacecraft represents a significant leap for collective scientific progress. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister @narendramodi and the people of India for this historic achievement in service of humankind.”

Spain Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on Wednesday said: “India’s achievement opens up new horizons for humanity. This mission is another proof of the power of science and of the great opportunities it offers us to keep promoting scientific progress and research. Congratulations, @narendramodi!”

PM Modi in reply wrote: “Indeed, through the power of science, India is working towards a brighter future for all. Thank you for the wishes @sanchezcastejon.”

Madagascar President on Wednesday wrote on X: “#Chandrayaan3 makes a historic landing on the Moon’s south pole! I would like to congratulate #India for such an incredible and emulating achievement.

Chandrayaan-3 Moon Landing Successful: India took a giant leap on Wednesday evening as the ISRO’s mooncraft, Chandrayaan-3 soft landed on Moon’s south polar region, making it the first country to achieve this milestone. Moreover, India became the fourth country – after the US, China, and Russia – to have successfully landed on the moon’s surface.

ISRO has continued to share videos and images of the moon Vikram lander and Pragyan rover of Chandrayaan-3 frequently on social media platforms. The Pragyan Rover has rolled over the surface of the moon for a distance of eight meters, ISRO said in its latest update. Yesterday, ISRO released a video of the Pragyan rover rolling out of Chandrayaan-3 Vikram lander from a two-segment ramp as well as the deployment of the ramp and solar panel prior to the rolldown of the rover.

Prime Minister Narendra on Saturday met the ingenious scientists of ISRO, including chairman S Somnath who were involved in the Chandrayaan-3 mission.

The mission began more than a month ago at an estimated cost of over ₹600 crore. ISRO Chairman S Somnath said that India would next attempt a manned lunar mission.

On 23 August, at 6:04 PM (IST), the Chandrayaan-3’s lander touched down close to the center of the 4.5-kilometer-wide area that had been targeted for the landing. The lander landed within 300 meters (985 feet) of that point. As per ISRO chairman, rover Pragyan was on the move, and working “very well,”

Chandrayan-3 Rover would conduct experiments over 14 days, including an analysis of the mineral composition of the lunar surface.
